And on the seventh day GOD rested… Resting is a major part of healing, even for athletes recovering from injury. If you continue to exhaust the area you can even cause permanent damage if you do not give it, it’s proper amount of time and rest. For this SOULFUL Soul-Care Sunday I want to encourage you to REST. In between saving the world and raising business capital find some time to steal away from the noise, spend time with GOD, pray, and really rest. Even enjoy a spa day, doesn’t require much, you can even do it at home. But you’ll find you have so much more energy and clarity of thought, following rest. There is a difference between sleeping and resting. This is why you can sleep every night and still feel as of you have not rested. Resting is done with intentionality. Silence or worship music (Shekinah Glory is one of my favorite stations to play on Pandora). Worship music shifts the atmosphere and helps us to shift our focus from worrying to worshipping. Though times may seemingly be hard for some, we can only manage what is in our arms reach, this is why it’s best to seek GOD early in the morning so that throughout the day we are not taking on responsibility that is A).
