Sony, Sings…

(A Short Story Snippett)

”You know you didn’t have to say it that way!”

”Say what? Whatever I said, I meant to say it, OK!”

”OK.”

”Ok, what?”

”Ok, whatever!”

”Whatever my foot, Judy take a good look. Life is steady moving and you’re worried about some words?”

”They’re more than words, Sony. You’re just not very nice. I understand now why Ben calls you,”thin ice.”

”Ben! And you’re really going to listen at him? He’s struggling Judy. He’s picking the wrong fight.”

”Fight?”

”Fight! Yeah that’s right.”

”You’re deflecting Sony to avoid being wrong.” “What happened to you?” “You were so kind and I loved singing your songs.”

”I’m still kind Judy. I just don’t take no mess.”

”I wish you did. Seems like now, you get everything off your chest!”

”And if I do?”

”Sometimes you’re rude!”

”This might be true. But what are you going to do?”

”Nothing Sony you’re my sister and I want to see you WIN.” I’m praying GOD will heal your heart and cleanse you from within. You’re not this way. You’re better free.” “You want to argue but you should really SING…” (The End)

GO! No other Joseph around… #PartyOfOne

The funny thing about elevation and life is that although it is highly promoted, not many tell you what to expect… One day you’re graduating and the next you are in the fast-track world of careerdom. Now you’re sitting at a desk or cubicle, “living the dream.” But what about your friends? What happened to all of those people you tossed caps with? A heart posture like Moses, “…I have been a stranger in a strange land…” (Exodus 2:22) This, my friends, is what produces the group of elites! It’s not that they’re more skilled, financially superior, or any of the qualifying factors that we believe. It is their willingness to go the full distance, no matter the cost. Elevation comes at a cost. Success comes at a cost. Not necessarily monetary, but it will cost you something. The question then becomes, are you willing to pay the cost. The cost of changed friend group. The cost of hard work and dedication. The cost of discipline. Are YOU willing to pay the cost? That’s a funny question for the chosen because, as if you have a choice… You’ve been handpicked and chosen by GOD regardless of your age. You could be as seasoned as Moses or younger than the prophet Jeremiah. If GOD called you, you have to go… Imagine how Joseph had to feel to experience great trauma and then finally overcome, be restored and the tables have turned in such a way that he’s in a class all by himself… What a grief? No friends in his league… Everyone chases success but what happens when accomplishment causes you to be socially separated due to the cause? Just some things to consider on your RISE… Everyone won’t make it, not because they can’t but simply because they were unwilling, to GO. But you my sister, you my brother, you have to. This entire world is depending on your dedication and willingness to complete what you originally began. There may not be any other Joseph around lol. But look up, you have a Heavenly Father and a host of angels cheering and rejoicing in the fact that you never gave up… Keep Going. #GoForth #JESUS #JESUSgirl #JESUSgirlENT #HeartSongs #Blogs #BlogPosts #Write #iWrite Written By: Shaniqua S. Kacey’s Adventures! 🙄🤨🫠

Kacey: “Mama I saw a bird yesterday!”

Mama: “Oh Kacey that’s nice.”

Kacey: “ Yeah. It was a big one too! So I had to look twice. I got really close to it so I could see it in the light. But then mama you’ll never guess what happened.”

Mama: “What happened Kacey?”

Kacey: “Just as soon as I got close, That bird grabbed me by my coat.”

Mama: “It did what?”

Kacey: “ Yeah, mama! Yesterday a bird dropped me on a tree.”

Mama: “On a tree?”

Kacey: “Yeah I wasn’t worried because I just knew you were gonna come save me. I even called on Tommy but he was nowhere to be found. So you know what I did mama.”

Mama: “What you do Kacey cause I’m trying to figure out how you be doing all this at school lately?”

Kacey: “I pulled my bookbag close on my back so I could tighten the straps and then next thing I know I heard Susie yell out “Somebody help me I’m trapped.”

Mama: “She was trapped?

Kacey: “Yeah mama, yesterday I saw a lion.”
Mama: “A lion?”

Kacey: “Yeah it was rushing right towards Susie but I stopped it mama! Stopped it right in its tracks. I dropped to the ground and said “Scar get back!””

Mama: “Scar?”

Kacey: “Yeah mama because Mufasa and Simba would never.”

Mama: “Kacey this sounds like a lie.”
Kacey: “Mama I swear I’m not lying Mama, Susie Lou was just crying. I helped her out of the trap and we walked back to school.

Mama: “So you telling me all this happened yesterday and you’re telling the truth?”
Kacey: “Mama I’m telling you and it’s true, that’s all that I can do.”

Mama: “Kacey I’m not about to play with you and your vivid imagination.”

Kacey: “Mama I’m just trying to tell you how I escaped every temptation. Then I looked on the board and Ms. Comer was drawing a snake! I said Aw Nah! Ain’t No way all of this is happening today! Get me out of this class I’ve really had enough.”

Mama: “Alright now Casey where are you getting all of this stuff? Ain’t nothing you saying sound nothing like the truth. Mrs. Comer is your math teacher, drawing snakes is not something she would do!”

And just as they were speaking Casey’s brother Tommy walked into the room.

Kacey: “Right on-time Tommy, tell mama I’m telling the truth. Tell her yesterday was crazy and all of the things I told to you.”

Tommy looked at Kacey and looked his Mama in her eyes and said “Mama I know you love Kacey and you really do be trying but mama sometimes Kacey just need to stop all of that lying! Kacey ain’t told me nothing about what happened at that school. I saw Kacey sitting in class reading a book about the zoo. When I heard her telling her story, I started to say, “Kacey Stop Lying!” But then I’d get in trouble because you said just say she’s not telling the truth.”

Mama: “So Kacey you mean to tell me, “You made all of this up?”

Kacey: (Laughing)” Yeah mama that was some really funny stuff.”

Mama: “Kacey it’s good to have an imagination but you must always tell the TRUTH. Lying is not right. It is not what children of GOD do.”

Kacey: “I’m sorry mama it won’t happen again.”

Mama: “That’s ok Kacey. You might end up making film. That story was good! I couldn’t wait until the end!”

Kacey:” I got it mama. I know what I’ll do. I’ll start writing stories entitled: ‘Kacey’s journey and adventures.’ So other small children can use their imaginations too …” (The End)

It’s Simple🦋

You are chosen. You are loved. It’s Simple. GOD adores you because HE loves you, Simple.

Sometimes in a quest to BE, we may miss what HE sees. Not looking for the SUPER you, just you. HE’s not more impressed by your accomplishments, just you. Can you fathom it, a love so pure? Not withholding HIS best and always opening doors. The GOD of Creation who founded this world.

See It, Before You See It… 🛫🌹🙏

I’ve wanted to live in Seattle for as long as I could remember… I recall a time or two that I entertained the thought of New York or some big booming state but my heart would bloom at the very thought of Seattle. I know now, without ever traveling there, the desire was more of a feeling than a location. A place of peace, beauty, serenity, and seclusion… Born in the Windy City (Chicago) and surrounded by lights, cameras, and ACTION for years you would think I desired something most similar, but not so. Over time, I’ve realized the extra bombastic features of life no longer excite me. I thrive in PEACE😪🙌🏾… In order to create the environment I needed to thrive I would have to first envision what that environment entailed. Every detail mattered, all the way down to the color tone. The BIBLE tells us in Habakkuk 2:2-3 to write the vision, plainly, that those who hear it can run with it. Well, oftentimes when sojourning you begin with an army of one. So I had to write the vision, plainly, so that I could not only run, but rise, SOAR, and FLY in Seattle…

Do The Hard Thing!

Todays’ society seems to be driven by comfort and familiarity. Not everyone, but many or most don’t want to challenge the waves, they would prefer to coast. And I’m no different on most days. If I could, I would lay in bed and scroll away. But then I’d look up and see my life and wonder how it got that way! In disarray. Oh no,No,NO! I’m the captain of my sea and the conqueror of my shore or whatever they said. (“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul,”-Invictus) I’m not losing opportunity because I’d prefer to stay in bed. Though I love to get sleep, too much sleep leads to poverty. Now that’s what GOD’s HOLY WORD says in Proverbs 6:11. I must work the works of HIM that sent me on my journey back to HEAVEN. I know many prefer their comfort and just to ride the waves of life. But I realize I’m different it must be a gift from GOD. I don’t enjoy doing the hard thing but it’s what keeps moving me forward. The decision to write, to take flight, and fight. No not for a physical defeat. I’m fighting the good fight of faith for the life GOD has promised me. I’m looking at my life now and noticing how GOD has always been with me. How JESUS paved the way so that we could live life, abundantly. So though, many may be in love with the regular and the mundane. I encourage you to DREAM BIG, see yourself with a lion’s mane. Don’t just let life dictate to you how things are supposed to be. What did GOD say? HIS WORD trumps everything. You can start today, and you don’t have to tell anybody. Just make a decision to change. A decision to get and use wisdom. A decision to decline the offers of everything that is not like GOD. To keep moving forward even when things get hard. And then you’ll look up and you’ll see, you’re that much closer to destiny. I encourage you to study. I encourage you to SOAR. I encourage you to do your best and once you’ve WON, get proper rest, and then do more. You are capable! You are able! You are what this world needs! The secret is that most of what we want, is on the other side of doing what may appear to be the hard thing. There are blessings that befall us just by being a child of GOD. However, additionally there are benefits for those that don’t just have faith, but they also work hard. To you my brother and sister, I’m praying for you and please know that I love you, but JESUS loves you most. And we’re praying that you WIN. Before you accomplish it, you have to BELIEVE. GOD believes in you greatly and HIS WORD says you can accomplish anything! (Philippians 4:13) #HappyNewYear #GOFORTH

If I Can Find Peace, Then I Can Cope… 🫶🏾🚶🏾‍♀️😒

Nope! Not Tuh-day! I ain’t got no hope!

I heard a woman say “If I find peace than I can cope!”

Well lady, I tried! At least that was the goal!

I walked outside, took a little stroll!

Walked right pass the library and the retail store!

I saw Frankie and Bobby laughing while Jimmy’s car was getting towed.

I looked over the bridge and saw the cars passing the toll.

And without any notice and a look across the street…

There seemed to be more drama coming on the scene.

Woah!

Derrick Johnson just got exposed!

Silly Ann threw his clothes right out of their door!

That was worthy a laugh but I suddenly had to gasp.

It was so sad to see that little small baby over there crying like crazy!

“What in the world is she going to do?”, I thought.

“He got all the money, and the car they just bought!”

I figured it safe to just mind my own business and continue on my way.

I’m trying to find peace I ain’t got time for delay.

But just as soon as I started walking I overheard her neighbors say:

”Oh what a shame of her to do this today.” “She should’ve kept that indoors not ruin their name.”

They were pointing at her and frowning like she was to blame!

In an instance I stopped! “So I guess y’all so smart!”

”Go help her out then! Since y’all supposed to be friends!”

Not a sound could be heard, not even a peep.

I looked at ol’ Ann and said “Lady listen to me!” “I know I’m only thirteen and I’m only here because I was looking for something.”

“ But the thing that I’m searching for I pray you find it too. I pray it fills your heart and mind and you do what you’ve got to do.”

“I ain’t got no money but I got a word, lent to me by an elder when I entered my teens.”

She said, “In life it will get hard and sometimes you’ll be alone.”

“She said you won’t always be able to depend on folks. But in the times you need GOD, pray and HE will help you most.”

“You may lose a lot of things, but don’t lose your hope, and if you find peace then you can cope.”

Today Was A Good Day <3

Today was a good day! I got an adequate amount of sleep and had the ability to sleep-in a little more than usual before Nyla Rose woke me up. Nyla is my baby girl and her personality just seems to be unfolding with the passing of the days. She is nine months now and though I initially thought she would be more of a soft-spoken, gentle baby, she has proven to be a life of the party baby. Nyla loves to laugh, smile, dance, sing, and occasionally pick with her older siblings. Goes to show that none of us truly know the fullness of who our children will become. In many cases, only time will tell.

Nyla awoke me this morning by gnawing on my cheek, upon rolling over to try to put her back to sleep, it appears sleep, grabbed hold of me. Next, I heard Nathan holler out, “Ma, get Nyla! She’s crawling all over me!” This was my alarm system this morning. My brother came and spent a little bit with us before returning home to his fiancée’, who is expecting their first baby girl. Today was a good day, because woke up to love. I count it not lightly, that I have a family that I love and that loves me. Naomi was still asleep in her room, so she missed out on a few early day shenanigans. But family and fun are not something she’s not used to.

The Eyes Of Innocence

I miss the eyes of innocence, before I knew what this world could do…

The eyes that saw everything wonderful, creative, new or gently used…

I stand amazed at the times I spend now sitting silently in an empty room…

The same eyes that lit up for freedom, now being the piercing canvases, saying nothing, yet singing the blues…

I DO!

She said in a room full of people…

What she saw, he saw, would change the heart of any Believer…

Tears welted up in the corner of these eyes…

I fiercely hurry them back inside, praying no one sees, because the eyes never lie…

Striving every day to protect the very nature of my soul…

Who cares about your worries? Who is concerned about your woes?

Stand tall. Be Brave. And Conquer.

That’s what you were sent here to do…

No time for running dry, eyes, because then you’ll have no use…

The lubricant of tears flowing help to keep your soul pure…(Selah)

I miss the eyes of innocence and how everything became an adventure…

The lights are out, so we watched the clouds, amazed by GOD’s beauty and splendor…

The fire hydrant serving as our water park in the summer…

The furnace giving heat, no fireplace around…

We’ll have Christmas with no reindeer, and a huge dinner fragrance filling the house…

The eyes of the innocent must always be preserved because without them even the best times would seem to be absurd…

A smile can seal a face and send beauty both near and far…

And when people see you smiling they don’t think to ask you “How you really are…”

They see your teeth and from cheek to cheek you seem to have it all figured out…

But when you look into the eyes of your beloved there’s a story shouting out…

Millenials, Gen Z, Gen X, Baby Boomers, Gen C…

We all have a story you see…

Based upon our life’s perception, the story tells itself…

How we handled the good times and in bad times how we were KEPT!

Whew JESUS!

That’s a story in and of itself…

Our glory years shining now into the twinkle of our eye…

A memory…

Of the good times and how we were really getting down…

Gone as a vapor…

Where have all the people gone?

“They grown chile and you is too, you best to figure out soon what you gon do!”

So we sit now on a stool or if it were a rocking chair, in amazement of how fast time flies and how things go from here to there…

Though I miss the eyes of innocence, there is nothing we can do.

Once you know what you know and you’ve seen many things come true…

You’ve experienced joy and pain… Sunshine and rain… But you’re still here…

Raindrops as it were dripping in your ear… Reminding us of the rhythm to the beat when our favorite song was on repeat…

Talking to your girlfriends or guy friends late into the midnight…

No Spotlight!

Time flies…

So what are you going to do?

Use the calculated data to become a Better you…

Share the love and wisdom you gathered throughout your years…

Remembering the triumph, laughter, jubilee, coupled with a few tears…

The data in your mind outweighing any camera or digital device…

Take care of your vision…

Be kind to your sight…

If the eyes were a teacher I’d believe the most valuable asset they’d want us to cherish is TIME… (Poem)

Joseph’s Song

Joseph…

His life is an Old Testament picture of JESUS. Thrown into a pit and sold into slavery by the very people he would have to deliver from a state of destitute and bondage. While experiencing persecution, Joseph never had the opportunity to tell his father the truth of what his brothers had really done. Have you ever been wronged and before you could speak on the matter or defend yourself the situation was too far gone? He was sold into slavery and then placed in the care of Potiphar. A man he didn’t know well but, profited from his favor. Even while in slavery the LORD honored his labor. Separated from family, and if there were any friends… He made the best of the life he had. He accepted where he had been. Until one day an issue arose in a situation with his master’s wife. She found interest in ol’ Joseph and it merely wrecked his little life. She told her husband Joseph came on to her, but he never did. He didn’t want that lady. He wasn’t thinking about her wig. Isn’t it something how when people can’t stop the LORD from blessing you, they can muster up a lie. Only thing about lies is they eventually reveal themselves over a period of time. Before he could fix the problem and tell Potiphar the truth. The jailer came to lock him up for something he didn’t do. 😪 If you thought your life was unfair try Genesis 37,39, and 40. His struggles started off at 17 and didn’t end until he was 30. Although he probably wanted to forget the past and move on with his life. His struggling brothers needed him. GOD saved him to save their lives. He found favor with Pharoah because he was able to interpret his dream. See Joseph was a dreamer that’s how he ended up dealing with these things. His favored caused people to hate him but GOD loved him all the more. May this blog post encourage you that you are not alone. People oftentime label what they can no longer control. And LORD forbid you actually have the audacity to GROW.🤷🏾‍♀️😮‍💨 Joseph never got the chance to reveal the character of those who oppressed him. No text message, no letter, no post. He went on with life and just accepted it for what it was. And because of his character GOD blessed him with so much more. May your heart remain pure no matter what they do. If they hate you or discard you don’t you ever stop being you. Joseph was different but he was favored by the LORD. A life full of rejection and hatred from the very people that he loved. But even though they acted and behaved the way that they did. When it was time to help them out Joseph proved he was no longer a kid. It takes maturity to let go. Only a mature person can forgive. And Joseph loved GOD so that is just what he did. Don’t miss out on what JESUS has for you next. Because you’re harboring unforgiveness unwilling to lay it all to rest. Life keeps moving forward and you don’t want to miss out. Only Great People Get Great Things and that is what this is truly about… GOD wanted to bless Joseph far above his peers. This required his separation so they wouldn’t talk him out of dreaming and fill his heart with fear. It was all for a purpose. It was all for a cause. When you look at his life it is a picture of our Promise. GOD told you and HE meant it. You have not been forgotten. Hold on to what HE said and you’ll see it to fruition. JESUS loves you very much and you are apart of HIS great mission. Poem.
